It's got a bit of a gritty vibe to it, with really cool female "chanson" style vocals. Taking the youth crew format of bands like Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today and so on and jamming in political lyrics. On 625 Records so you know the quality's guaranteed. http://www.highscorepunx.com Kidd Blunt - Grey.Black.Grey CD Probably the best band to come out of Ireland says I. Punk rock at it's heart, but a really technical, well-crafted take on it - I think the closest comparison I could make is Black Flag meets Drive Like Jehu, except much better than that would sound. This nineteen track cd compiles their out-of-print split 7"s with The Pine, KC Milan, Catena Collapse, Apoplexy Twist Orchestra, and Acrinomie plus several compilation tracks, a rare demo, two new unreleased tracks and enhanced video. http://www.myspace.com/laquiete Pedestrians - Future Shock LP American punk keeping up the trend (though not a bad one!) of Yanks looking back to their punk rock glory days, and re-rendering it in a modern form. Everyone who fusses about La Quiete, Ampere, Orchid etc shouldn't let these guys slip out of sight. Epic and thoroughly enjoyable. http://www.slaveunion.com Ripcord - More Songs About... CD From the annals of the late 80s, Ripcord were influential in introducing the pace and raw aggression of American hardcore to a Britain more concerned, at the time, with anarcho-punk. This is faster and thrashier than yer average Minor Threat tune, hitting almost Napalm Death speed at times. For those who like it fast. Snowblood - Being and Becoming 2xLP (£10.00/£12.00ppd) Glasgow's finest come up trumps again with their second full-length, carrying influence from everything from the brutal hardcore of His Hero is Gone right through to Pink Floyd. This stands on it's own though, a real powerhouse of thoughtul (and thought-provoking) music. http://www.snowblood.com Thema Eleven - Choose Your Beast LP Hailing from the Czech Republic and delivering some of the best we-listen-to-Neurosis-a-lot style hardcore I've heard in a while.
