Atomgevitter/Filthpact 7"
Hard to find split from two of the best Scottish bands. Furious thrash from the 'gevitter crüe vs raging crustcore from the filthy ones!
http://www.atomgevitter.comhttp://www.filthpact.comBud Hoskins 7"
Three tunes of power-pop-punk-rock a la J Church/The Replacements. You'll sing, you'll dance, you'll cry...then you'll put this on.
http://www.budhoskins.co.ukPulling Teeth/Frightener 7"
Awesome stuff. PT deliver the Ringworm/Integrity worship, and Frightener just plain old bash yer skull in with a sweet Entombed vibe going on.
http://www.myspace.com/pullingteethmdhttp://www.myspace.com/frightenerRaise the White Flag - Calling All Cynics 7"
Fast-as-fuck hardcore from south-east England, now sadly deceased. The tuneful sensibilities of Minor Threat thrown in with the speed of DS13.
http://www.myspace.com/raisethewhiteflagTunguska/DeNovissimus 7"
Two Irish bands comprised of solid dudes. HHIG-style noisemongering from Tunguska (members of Easpa Measa and Silence), crushing doom on the flipside from DeNov.
http://www.myspace.com/tunguskapunkV/A - No Sleep to Guildford 7"
Fast bands from way down south. Crash the Pose, Dead Sea Fucking Scrolls, Man Down, The Motherfuckers and Worker & Parasite are the ones playing it no slow, all go for your listening pleasure.
http://www.myspace.com/squintyjoerecordsWorker & Parasite/The Motherfuckers 7"
Two from the above compilation doing the fast hardcore thing very well indeed!

Bailer - Sing it like a Victim CD
Harks back to glorious mid-90s shouty punk (or, dare I say, emo) bands like Shotmaker, Max Colby, Four Hundred Years etc. A bit more melodic though.
http://www.myspace.com/bailerCall the Police - 1984 in 2003 CD
Burly punk rock featuring the much-travelled Burdette brothers (Todd and Paul of HHIG, Tragedy, Deathreat etc). There's a bit of a UK82 vibe mixed in with 90s Euro squat punk, kind of like Blitz meets Burning Kitchen.
http://www.myspace.com/callthepoliceDir Yassin - Discography LP
Probably the best band to come out of Israel, totally raging hardcore that covers the territory from balls-to-the-wall thrash right through to more intricate, but no less aggressive, songsmithery. Includes lyrics in English and Hebrew with some thoughtful pieces on the conflict in Palestine.
http://www.angelfire.com/il/deiryassin/Songs.htmElektroduendes - Salgo A La Calle LP (£5.00/£6.50ppd)
Unexpectedly good Spanish pop-punk! It's got a bit of a gritty vibe to it, with really cool female "chanson" style vocals. Feel good hit of the winter.
http://www.espai.org/elektroduendes/index2.htmHighscore - Unsuspecting Actors LP (£5.00/£6.50ppd)
More fast hardcore, this time from Germany. Taking the youth crew format of bands like Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today and so on and jamming in political lyrics. On 625 Records so you know the quality's guaranteed.
http://www.highscorepunx.comKidd Blunt - Grey.Black.Grey CD
Probably the best band to come out of Ireland says I. Punk rock at it's heart, but a really technical, well-crafted take on it - I think the closest comparison I could make is Black Flag meets Drive Like Jehu, except much better than that would sound. Decide for yourself.
http://www.myspace.com/kiddbluntLa Quiete - Tenpeun CD
The long-awaited collection of early and hard to find releases from Italy's champions of chaotic post-hardcore. This nineteen track cd compiles their out-of-print split 7"s with The Pine, KC Milan, Catena Collapse, Apoplexy Twist Orchestra, and Acrinomie plus several compilation tracks, a rare demo, two new unreleased tracks and enhanced video.
http://www.myspace.com/laquietePedestrians - Future Shock LP
American punk keeping up the trend (though not a bad one!) of Yanks looking back to their punk rock glory days, and re-rendering it in a modern form. If you're into Adolescents, The Avengers and that then this one's for you.
http://www.trujacafala.com/pedestrians.htmPyramids - Following the Tracks, Forcing Motion Through Phases CD
One of the best, and sadly one of the more under-rated, hardcore discs to come out in 2006. Everyone who fusses about La Quiete, Ampere, Orchid etc shouldn't let these guys slip out of sight. Epic and thoroughly enjoyable.
http://www.slaveunion.comRipcord - More Songs About... CD
From the annals of the late 80s, Ripcord were influential in introducing the pace and raw aggression of American hardcore to a Britain more concerned, at the time, with anarcho-punk. This is faster and thrashier than yer average Minor Threat tune, hitting almost Napalm Death speed at times. For those who like it fast.
Snowblood - Being and Becoming 2xLP (£10.00/£12.00ppd)
Glasgow's finest come up trumps again with their second full-length, carrying influence from everything from the brutal hardcore of His Hero is Gone right through to Pink Floyd. This stands on it's own though, a real powerhouse of thoughtul (and thought-provoking) music.
http://www.snowblood.comThema Eleven - Choose Your Beast LP
Hailing from the Czech Republic and delivering some of the best we-listen-to-Neurosis-a-lot style hardcore I've heard in a while. Slow, snarling and chock full of samples, with enough hooks to keep yer head banging.
